Jump to: Similarities between Voy and Second Nature | Differences between Voy and Second Nature | Take home message

Voy and Second Nature are weight-loss programmes offering Wegovy and Mounjaro injections alongside a digital weight-loss programme.

The main obvious difference between Voy and Second Nature is the length of time these companies have been operating.

Second Nature has been running for 10 years and has been used by the NHS for over 6 years, building up a base of trust and credibility.

Voy is a very new brand and, as of January 2024, still had a stock of Latin fillers on their website – indicating the website was only launched recently.

Based on this, if you’re looking for a weight-loss programme alongside a GLP-1 medication like Wegovy and Mounjaro we’ll be biased and recommend that you choose Second Nature over Voy.

If nothing else, for peace of mind, you’re choosing a trusted and established brand.

In terms of the weight-loss programmes, there are similarities and differences, which we’ve summarised below.

The three main similarities between Voy and Second Nature

  1. Whole-food approach to weight loss: Both programmes recommend a whole-food-rich diet to support sustainable weight loss.
  2. Pharmacy partnerships: Both companies are partnered with a pharmacy to deliver the programme and ensure the clinical safety of all patients.
  3. Health coaches and nutritionists: Both programmes utilise the expertise of registered nutritionists or dietitians as health coaches to provide personalised support.

Additionally, there are several key differences between the two programmes that go beyond the level of experience that we’ve described above. These are summarised below.

The three main differences between Voy and Second Nature

A graphic outlining the main differences between Voy and Second Nature weight loss programmes.

1) Second Nature is used by the NHS and NICE-approved

Second Nature has been used by the NHS since 2017. We’ve delivered programmes for the NHS in type 2 diabetes management, diabetes prevention, and weight management.

The National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE) recently announced that Wegovy would be available via digital weight management services provided by Second Nature and three other companies supporting the NHS.

This approval recognises the high level of patient care and support that Second Nature has provided our members in the past.

Whilst our Wegovy and Mounjaro weight-loss programmes are private and not currently used by the NHS, we’ve built the programmes with a focus on scientific evidence, patient safety, and data security.

In comparison, Voy has no affiliations with the NHS or trusted healthcare providers in the UK. (This isn’t to say they won’t continue to grow and develop these partnerships in the future.)

2) Second Nature is clinically proven

Second Nature has over seven years of published clinical data outlining its effectiveness.

Our programme is proven to support individuals to lose weight; individuals on our programme lose an average of over 6kg after 12 months.

Additionally, our programme is proven to support individuals living with type 2 diabetes to lower their blood sugar levels.

So much so that our original pilot in Portsmouth with the NHS showed that 40% of patients lowered their HbA1c (average blood sugar levels) below the diagnostic threshold for type 2 diabetes. Putting them on the path to potential remission in the future.

Additionally, Second Nature has recently published the first paper to outline the effectiveness of a digital programme alongside semaglutide medication.

You can find all of Second Nature’s published data here.

In comparison, Voy doesn’t currently have any published data in medical journals showcasing the impact of their programme on weight loss, blood sugar control, or other health markers.

However, this will likely change in the future as the company grows and collects more data.

3) Cost and Trustpilot reviews

  • The total monthly cost of the Second Nature programme, including GLP-1 medication is £229, rising to £299
  • The total monthly cost of the Voy programme, including Wegovy, is £229 (before discount offers are added)
  • As of February 2024, Voy doesn’t have Mounjaro in stock
  • Second Nature’s current Trustpilot score based on 6,270 reviews is 4.8, and are rated as ‘Excellent’
  • Voy’s current Trustpilot score based on 28 reviews is 4.4, and are rated as ‘Excellent’

Weight-loss injections are designed as additional tools for weight management interventions and shouldn’t be considered lifelong medications.

Instead, they should be used to help you kickstart your weight loss and healthy journey while you commit to living a healthier lifestyle.

Consider the use of antidepressants for people living with depression. They’re not designed to cure the condition. Instead, they’re designed to allow room for therapy to treat the condition’s underlying cause.

Mounjaro, and other weight loss injections, like Ozempic and Wegovy, are similar. They can allow you to make lifestyle changes to support long-term weight loss maintenance.

Mounjaro can help silence food-related thoughts and also give you a boost of confidence with more immediate weight-loss results.

This helps to buy you the time and headspace to understand why your body may have struggled to lose weight previously, and to build new long-term healthy habits.

The core focus of our medication programmes is to calm down the feeling of food noise, lower your cravings, and allow you to build healthier habits to keep the weight off for good.

The ultimate goal is to make losing weight feel second nature.

Second Nature’s medication-supported programmes

Second Nature has two medication-supported programmes: a Wegovy weight-loss programme and a Mounjaro weight-loss programme.

If you’ve made the decision to try Wegovy or Mounjaro (assuming you’re eligible), why should you choose Second Nature over other medication providers?

For peace of mind.

Second Nature has worked with the NHS for over 6 years providing weight-loss programmes across the UK.

Whilst our Wegovy and Mounjaro weight-loss programmes are private and not currently used by the NHS, we’ve built the programmes with a focus on scientific evidence, patient safety, and data security.

We hope that our 6+ years of working with the NHS and building a track record of effective weight-loss results will give you peace of mind to give us a try.

Do not use Voy. They sent me a faulty pen and have refused to refund me. They have cost me £150 for nothing. They won’t take it back and will not replace.

Can you help me cope with a restricted diet? I’m on low fibre(low residue) for life because I can no longer tolerate dietary fibre. But it excludes most fruit veg and wholegrains so is very heavy on carbs and protein, so not helpful when I need to lose so much weight

Hi Joyce, our team of registered nutritionists and dietitians are trained to support all of our members with their individual dietary needs.

Through the private chat and tools like our food diary, it’s possible you’d be able to manage your condition while being successful on SN.

However, we’d also recommend you stay in close contact with your GP and healthcare team to monitor your progress.

I am presently with Manual weight loss injection, they can’t obtain Ozempic for me so put me on Trulicity. I see that you have Wegovy available, would you be willing to prescrible this to me if i cancel with Manual ? Regards Cheryl Lyon.
