In the UK, you can buy weight-loss injections and medications online from registered and regulated clinics and pharmacies.
In 2023, Second Nature launched a medication-supported programme using the GLP-1 medication, Wegovy (semaglutide).
However, there are some important caveats and notes to be aware of before going down this route.
What’s the best weight-loss injection?
Hopefully, it goes without saying that the best weight-loss injection is: no injection.
If you can achieve weight loss without the use of drugs, this is always the best option; it’s cheaper, more sustainable, and you won’t run the risk of having any side effects.
However, in terms of the best available weight-loss injection in 2023, in Second Nature’s opinion, we would say that the currently best available is semaglutide.
Semaglutide is a drug that helps reduce hunger and appetite, allowing you to eat fewer calories, lose weight, and manage your blood sugar levels.
High-quality randomised controlled trials have shown that semaglutide (1 mg) can lead to a significant weight loss of up to 15%.
Semaglutide is provided as a weight-loss injection, rather than being a weight-loss pill or tablet. You simply inject the prescribed dose once per week.
It’s made by the pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk, and is manufactured under two different brand names: Wegovy and Ozempic – you can read our guide for the differences between Wegovy and Ozempic and learn more about semaglutide.
As of Feb 2024, Wegovy is still the main weight-loss injection in the UK, but the new weight-loss drug Mounjaro is launching in March 2024.
Where can you buy weight-loss injections online?
In the UK you can purchase weight-loss drugs, like semaglutide, online from registered and regulated clinics and pharmacies. You need a prescription to buy semaglutide, which you can complete using an online form.

How much do weight-loss injections cost?
Taking Second Nature’s medication-supported programme as an example (i.e. weight-loss injection + digital weight-loss programme), this is currently priced at £229 per month, rising to £299 with the higher doses.
This is not cheap, which is why we always recommend trying our standalone weight-loss programme first (£39 per month), before exploring a more intensive medication-supported programme.
Am I eligible to buy weight-loss injections?
GLP-1 medications like Wegovy and Mounjaro can lead to significant weight loss and health improvements like lower blood pressure and blood sugar levels.
However, all medications come with risks and rewards, and not everyone is suitable for semaglutide.
Deciding to start a new medication is a highly personal choice. So, ultimately, it depends on whether you believe it’s the best decision for your health going forward.
Additionally, when you’re being prescribed the medication, you have to meet specific eligibility criteria.
